Scones!!!

Hello Guys! Today in Science we are making scones. We are making 3 different scones, First, we are making a normal one, then the other 2 is our own choice of ingredients. Like for example, we want the scones to have a little bit of lemonade or something. Again, in this experiment, I'm with Risha, Shreya, and Nevaeh and we decided to name our group ESNR.

The purpose of making a normal scone is because, so when all of the 3 scones are cooked we are gonna compare the normal one compare from the other 2 of the choice of our own ingredients as a group.

Aim: To look at different kitchen ingredients in scones and their effects

Ingredients of the normal one:
- 1/2 cup Edmons standard flour
- 1 tsp Edmon's baking powder or 1 tsp baking soda
- 2 tsp butter
- 1/4 cup milk, approximately or 1/4 cup lemonade

So basically, The second one and the third one's ingredients are the same but we just added some ingredients.

Materials:
- Medium Bowl
- Spoon
- Plate
- Paper and Paper for labeling

Process:
Step 1. Get all the ingredients and put them in a medium bowl like that one at the top the orange one.

Step 2. Get a spoon or something to stir with, and mix all the ingredients inside that bowl.

Step 3. When your done mixing them, take them out if they are ready to knead, make sure they are not too sticky or watery, Make sure to shape them like a scone.

Step 4. Get a paper and a pen to label them, and write like "Normal" and your group names. The reason why we have to label them is that, so we know which is which.

Here's our one:
For the second one - We added 1 tsp of Baking soda for the 2nd one.

For the third one - We added 1/2 cup of lemonade for the 3rd one.
So basically we just added ingredients and we didn't take out ingredients.

Step 5. Last but not least put all the 3 scones in a tray

Step 6. Put them in an oven.

Step 7.  Put them in a 425 f, and let them cook.

Conclusion:

TRIAL NUMBER:

Colour

TASTE

HEIGHT (CM)

1. NORMAL

WhiteYummy40 mm

2.Baking Soda

BrownDisgusting35 mm

3. Lemonade

WhiteYummy 45 mm

Evidence of That Data:

For me, The best one was the normal one of course.
Bye Guys! Have a great day!

Skittles Experiment YUM!

Namaste! Today I'm gonna be sharing you guys the second coolest experiments we did today in Science. This experiment is called Chromatography Skittles.

Aim - To see the colors separate in a circle container.

Materials
- Circle Container
- Skittles
- Water

Steps:

1. Get a circle container
2. Get different colour skittles of your choice
3. Place the skittles separated to each other like in the photo so it won't mix.
4. When you're ready, get water and pour it into the circle container where you put the skittles.
5. See what happens and record it or take a picture of it and to post it into your blog.

That's all thank you for taking the time to read this post, don't forget to leave a Positive, Thoughtful and Helpful comment down below. :-)

RAINBOW PAPER!

Kamusta! today in Science were doing two cool experiments, and one of those experiments are called chromatography Pens. So I'm gonna tell you how to do it, Here are some easy steps to do this cool experiments.

Aim - To separate the colours.

Materials:
- Chromatography Paper
- Pens - Red, Black, Green
- Ruler
- Pencil
- Water
- Plastic Cup

Steps:

1. Get a piece of Paper and mark the top of the paper about 2 cm and at the bottom mark 1 cm using the ruler.
2. Get the 3 color pens of your choice and mark it like this and fold the top where you mark it about 2 cm:

3. Get your plastic cup and hang your piece of paper in the side of the cup and pour some water inside just about the 1 cm where you mark it like this:

4. Just don't move it and wait about 5 mins or more for the colors to spread out.

Our ones failed because we used a black marker to mark the lines, and it affects the experiment.

That's All for Today! See you on our next cool chromatography experiments.

Filtration Science Experiment

Hello Guys! Today in Science we are doing an experiment called "Filtration". For this experiment, I partnered up with Nevaeh, Risha, and Shreya.

What does Filtration mean?
It means the action or process of filtering something.

Examples:
1. Pool Filter
2. Coffee Filter Machine
3. Tea Bag
4. Kidney

Materials:
- Large Plastic Bottle
- Filter Paper
- Pebbles
- Sand
- Dirty water
- Scissors
- Cup
- Tissue
- Cutter

Process
Step 1. Get a large plastic bottle
Step 2. Get a cutter and cut a small line in the middle of the plastic bottle
Step 3. Get sharp scissors and proceed the cutting around the large plastic bottle
Step 4. Get a filter Paper and fold it in half and fold it in half again
Step 5. Open one layer of the filter paper and the other 3 just leave it there.
Step 6. You should have a shaped cone as a result, now out the cone inside the other half where there's a hole in order the drink can go through.
Step 7. Put the first half and place it in the top of the other half like this:

Step 7. Get your sand and put it to the top first then the pebbles.
Step 8. Get your dirty water and put in the top, also make sure you put your tissue paper underneath the bottle just in case some sand falls out.
Step 9. No pebbles or sand should go to the side of filter paper because it'll ruin the experiment
Step 10. Now it should slowly be pouring some clean water to the other empty half If it went faster and the dirty water comes out... well sorry to say, you failed it 🖓

Our ones succeed and here's a proof:

Bye! See you in the next post!

What is 7 / 8 Tz’s Favourite candy?

Bonjour! This week in Maths, we've done some cool Bar Chart again like last week, But this time It's a different topic. So our Topic is "What is 7 / 8 Tz’s Favourite candy?" I also partnered up with Nevaeh.

Four Cool Dimensions of Haoura

Namaste! This week in Haoura, we learned what is the meaning of the four cool dimensions of Houara and how can you show them. For our D.L.O. (Digital Learning Object)  in Haoura, we decided to make at least 30 seconds video explaining what is it.

We were split into small groups, in each group, there are 4 people in it. In my group, I'm with Zoe, Danielle, and Shreya. We decided to make a video about "Social Well-being" - Taha Whanau (In Maori).

Miss Tozer and Mrs. Clark edited and put the little clips together and make it into one big video also you might notice that some of the little clips are not giving any informati5on because they run out of time to edit and record.

If you want to see our video, you'll just see it in there...

Tips that are in our video:

Tip 1: Talk To Them
If you don't talk to them there will be no connection going on between your family/friends.
(Mine)

Tip 2:  Be kind to your friends/family
Otherwise, it'll come back to you.
(Danielle)

Tip 3: Have the Confidence to compliment other people.
(Zoe)

Shreya - She's the camera girl

The GREAT VIDEO:

Bye! have a wonderful day!

Personal ID Card and Acrostic Poems

Personal ID Card

Ciao! This week, I've done my Personal ID Card, If you ask what is it well, It's a card where your gonna tell what's your birthday, where you came from and etc.
When you finished it, My lovely teacher Miss Tozer will hang our Personal ID Cards along with the C.A.R.R. Values Poster (I have a blog post about it!) and Acrostic poems about our self to the wall.

But first, before we moved on about Personal ID Card thing... here's a picture about my Personal ID Card:

You'll notice that I used the same picture of me LOL

Ok, Let's moved on...

Acrostic Poems

So Acrostic Poems is
a type of poetry where the first, last or other letters in a line spell out a particular word or phrase.
Here's my work:

Home Chemistry - Design an experiment Task 1 - 3

Home Chemistry - Design an experiment (Task 1 - 3)

AIM: DESIGN AN EXPERIMENT THAT TESTS THE AMOUNT OF SALT THAT MUST BE IN WATER BEFORE IT WILL NOT FREEZE WHEN LEFT OVERNIGHT IN THE FREEZER.

Image result for salt and water

When we design an experiment there are some important questions that we must answer first. This is part of the planning stage and will help to give us some ideas.

Record these answers on your blog.

The Plan.

Task 1; Read the question carefully and write the answer to these questions.

What do we need to find out?

My Answer: We need the ingredients and the ingredients are an amount of Salt, Water, a glass cup/beaker and a freezer.

2. How will we find out?
My Answer: We will find it out by mixing the Salt and the water in a glass cup and left it in the freezer overnight.

3. How will we record what we find?
My Answer: We can record it by taking a picture of it and post it in your blog.

4. What equipment do we need for the experiment?
My Answer: Salt and Water.

5. How long will it take?
My Answer: Overnight

The Procedure

Task 2: What are the steps that you will take to make the experiment?

List them in 6 steps.

Step 1: Get a good amount of salt
Step 2: Get a good size cup/beaker
Step 3: Fill the cup with a good amount of water
Step 4: Mix the salt with the water in the cup/beaker
Step 5: Leave them overnight in a freezer
Step 6: Record what happened.

The Process

Task 3: Draw on a piece of A4 paper the 6 steps that you will use to test the amount of salt in water before freezing. When we are making drawings in science  it needs to be labelled clearly, kept tidy and named. Once you have completed the drawing it must be photographed and uploaded to your blog.

In your drawing you will use:
  1. Beakers
  2. Water
  3. Measuring spoons or cups
  4. Salt

My answer:
Here's my sheet about the Task 3:

Bye Guys! Hope you enjoy, see yah on the next post!
Don't forget to give me some feedback to improve my work!

Fun Drama and Haoura Class

Modules - Drama and Hauora Class

Bonjour! Hi Again! This week in Module Class (Drama + Haoura), We did some really cool and fun things!, so I'm gonna share with you guys that today. So first, The teacher explains what are the 4 parts of Haoura.

So the 4 parts of the Hauora are:
Physical, Mental and Emotional, Spiritual and last but not the least Social.

Because it's a joined class (Haoura and Drama are combined), so the teachers Miss Tozer - Hauora and Mrs. Clark - Drama decided to do some activities that include those two things.

Freeze  Frame! - That's the activity name. So this is how it worked.
We were split up into 4 groups - the people that are in my group are Nevaeh, Daniel, Zoe and Me
So our group was about Mental and Emotional, so we have to act something that shows emotions.

Here's a slide that explains what we decided to do and some pictures:

Thank you for taking the time to read my post!
