White Blood Cells POV - Writing (Late post)
Hello! Welcome to another post of mine. Weeks ago, In Hurumanu 2 (Science + Literacy) we were studying about blood. In one of our tasks, we were tasked to write a story about the blood cells. To expand an individual's understanding of blood and its functions. Here's my mini-story about the 4 types of blood cells through the White blood cell's point of view (POV). I hope you enjoyed it and have learned something new!
White Blood Cells POV (Point of view)
Hello. I am White blood cells. I have three other brothers and they are Red blood cells, Plasma, and Platelets. We are the four types of blood cells that are contained inside the human body. Each of us has different jobs that are responsible for. I and my brother Platelets are the defenders while my brother Plasma and red blood cells are responsible for transporting the chemicals that are needed for the body to survive.
Together, we are the blood brothers.
Let me tell you, a bit more about me. My job is to protect the human body from any foreign molecules or infections that try to dare to enter the body. I am the bravest and fight any infections that come my way. I fought the infections by producing antibodies. Thus, the human body will stay healthy and safe. I usually rest when the body is perfectly healthy and a bit more active when it’s not well.
My brother, Platelets, kind of had a similar job as me. We both protect the body. Platelets are responsible for making blood clots when the body gets a wound or cut. That way, it would prevent the amount of blood loss from the body. Losing a lot of blood can lead to some serious conditions. Platelets are the tiny fragments of cells.
Next, my brother, red blood cells. He is responsible for carrying a chemical called “Hemoglobin”. A chemical that carries oxygen around the body. Without oxygen, humans wouldn’t be able to live. Red blood cells make up about 45% of the human body so there are more red blood cells.
Lastly, my brother Plasma. Plasma is rather a straw-colored liquid. He transports carbon dioxide from the human cells to their lungs, nutrients from the small intestine of their cells, and chemical messengers (called hormones) to their cells too. It makes up about 54% of the human body's blood.
Now there you have it. We are the blood brothers. Nice to meet you!
Now I have to go. I need to go and fight those nasty infections!

My Summer Holiday

I spend my holidays mostly staying at home relaxing watching Anime. During Christmas, my family and I had a long drive to Queenstown. It was a pretty exhausting trip for me but we arrived at Queenstown at ease.
We stayed there for 3 days. During those 3 days, we tried a variety of things in Queenstown from tasty foods to thrilling rides. My highlight was probably trying different sort of ice cream flavours of Patagonia ice cream shop. It was おいしい (delicious).
than that, we also visited the Gondola in Queenstown. It was terrifying up high and at the same time, It's a pleasing scenery above. Overall, my holidays were okay. That's all. Sayounara~!

MATERIALS
- Straws (4x)
- Cups (4x)
- Pin
- Pencil
- Tape
STEPS
- Tape the 2 straws together and also the other 2.
- Make a hole both sides of the cups.
- Put the straws to the holes do the same to the other one.
- Tape them together and make sure the cups are facing the sideways.
- Now get your pin and pin both of the straws over and under one another to the rubber of the pencil.
- Timekeeper
- Counter
- Recorder
- Anemometer Manager
- Wind generator
- Mount the anemometer in a place that has full access to the wind from all directions.
- When the timekeeper says "Go", the counter in each group will count how many times the marked cup passes them in one minute and write it down.
- If possible, repeat the above step four (4) times and record the average number of spins on the chart.

Home Chemistry - Design an experiment Task 1 - 3
AIM: DESIGN AN EXPERIMENT THAT TESTS THE AMOUNT OF SALT THAT MUST BE IN WATER BEFORE IT WILL NOT FREEZE WHEN LEFT OVERNIGHT IN THE FREEZER.
When we design an experiment there are some important questions that we must answer first. This is part of the planning stage and will help to give us some ideas.
Record these answers on your blog.
The Plan.
Task 1; Read the question carefully and write the answer to these questions.
What do we need to find out?
My Answer: We need the ingredients and the ingredients are an amount of Salt, Water, a glass cup/beaker and a freezer.
The Procedure
Task 2: What are the steps that you will take to make the experiment?
List them in 6 steps.
Step 2: Get a good size cup/beaker
Step 3: Fill the cup with a good amount of water
Step 4: Mix the salt with the water in the cup/beaker
Step 5: Leave them overnight in a freezer
Step 6: Record what happened.
The Process
Task 3: Draw on a piece of A4 paper the 6 steps that you will use to test the amount of salt in water before freezing. When we are making drawings in science it needs to be labelled clearly, kept tidy and named. Once you have completed the drawing it must be photographed and uploaded to your blog.
