  1. Hi there Elisha-Mae. My name is Alamoni and I'm a year 8 at Ruapotaka school and will be year 9 next year, I was so interested when you were telling me your reasons of colouring her lips and hair red and black and yes I can see that you coloured some of the flowers in instead of just colouring them all and I just want to say that I love the way it looks
and now you have given more ideas for me for colouring my art because I'm not very interesting in colour but love to draw.
before I go can i ask what is your reason for picking this picture ( not saying it's bad BTW ) that's it from me have a great day Elisha-Mae keep up the great work!

    sincerely by Alamoni.

    1. Hi Alamoni!
Thank you for commenting on my post. I'm happy to know you find my description of my colouring page interesting and as well as ideas for you for colouring your art.

The reason why I chose this specific picture to colour is because I am interested in Japanese culture. And as you probably can tell, this art work was made by in a Japanese culture related.

Again, thank you for commenting on my post Alamoni. Good luck on being a year 9 next year. Have a nice day!

  2. Kia Ora Elisha-Mae,

My name is Shannon, and I’m from the Summer Learning Journey.

You’ve done an incredible job on your artwork! I like how you stuck with the original colours but made them bolder so the painting didn’t look as faded. It looks amazing, and I especially like that the comb, sach, and lady’s lips all match in a lovely ruby red! Red is one of my favourite colours, what’s yours?

I also like how you’ve explained why you’ve chosen each colour. Red definitely represents attractiveness and passion. Do you know any other colours that represent emotions?

Good job on starting the Summer Learning Journey, I look forward to seeing all your future blog posts! What activities are you most excited for?

    Ka kite anō,
    Shannon (SLJ)

    1. Hi Shannon from the Summer Learning Journey!

Thank you for commenting on my post too! I'm glad to hear that you liked my colouring art work. Yes, I indeed stick to the similar colours from the original one. I like to keep things the way they are because I find it unique. I also added a bit of a life to the colours in my own coloured version. Thanks for noticing.

Yes Red is truly an attractive passionate colour no wonder why most people chose red as their favourite colour. Honestly, I also quiet like the colour red itself just because it stands out the most for me.

Yes I also know a bit of emotions that the other colours represents.
For instance, Yellow signifies joy, hope and sunshine. Blue signifies trust, melancholic, and peace. Purple signifies wealth because back in the olden days only royals wear that colour because it is hard to produce purple clothing.

I am excited for Art related activities.
Thank you again and have a nice day! =)

    2. Kia ora again Elisha-Mae,

      Thank you for responding!

I agree, keeping the original colours but making it bolder was a smart way to make it unique! Ka pai.

My absolute favourite colour is orange. I like warmer colours because they remind me of summer and summer reminds me of ice cream!

Wow, colours can signify so many things! What does the colour green signify? Isn’t it crazy how our perceptions of colour form. Purple is regal because it used to be expensive, just like khaki is cheap and durable so it’s less desirable nowadays.

      Have a great day!
      Shannon
