Film Study - Coraline - Challenges Chart

In Hurumanu 2 - Film studies, we watched an animation film created in 2009 called "Coraline". Before you proceed, I just wanna warn you that there are some spoilers ahead. If you don't care about it then you may continue to read below.

Here's a brief summary of what was the film is about:

It was about a pre-teen girl who has recently moved into Pink Palace Apartments. Boredom gets the best of her and she started exploring the place. She discovered an interesting small door passage that leads to a parallel world. It was an identical world except the world was something she would love. Her parents in that world weren't always busy and showed great affection for her.

They cooked the good meals that she wanted to eat and even things that brought fun and colour to her dull boring life. However, as the film progressed, the world she thought that is wonderful and full of fun got twisted into a horrifying one. Where eventually the "Other Mother" revealed her true form. A beldam (witch) that traps children that live from the apartment over the centuries and take their souls by sewing buttons onto their eyes. If you wanna know what happened, I highly recommend you to watch the film.

Anyways, in Film studies, we were tasked to either do Challenges charts of 2 lead characters of our choice or create a resume with again, the 2 lead characters of our choice. I chose Coraline and the black Cat.

Levinthal Emulations - ART

In our Art lesson, we are focusing on David Levinthal's way of photography. David Levinthal is a photographer that uses mini figures to represent an idea like war scenes for example. We were tasked to make an emulation of his photographs. Emulation is kinda like imitating something but not exactly copying, just either making it better from the original or creating a piece that is kinda similar to it but with our own props. We took the time to do some photograph session outside using our mini figures. Here are the photographs I took. I didn a little bit of editing in it. I hope you like it.

It is 3 photographs of mini figures that looked like some couples. There's not really any special idea meaning behind it. We also needed to evaluate one of our photographs and check if we have included like rule of thirds, assymetry/symettry, focal points, and leading lines.  View my other post to know the definitions of those and what it is. Have a nice day! Bye!

Orana Wildlife Park Field Trip!

Image result for orana park
Annyeonghaseyo! (Hello in Korean) On Monday, we went on a field trip to Orana Wildlife Park. We went there to learn a little bit more about the different types of animals. For me, It was a pretty exciting fun trip and I really enjoyed going there. Miss Bethany was our instructor and she taught us about the animals. The animals that probably stood out for me is the Kea. Kea is one of the native birds in New Zealand and it is very intelligent.

Giraffe feeding was one of the unforgettable one. I was scared at first because I was terrified that the giraffe might bite my hands when I point the food to it. But luckily, Miss K helped me to feed the giraffe. There's even a video, where I filmed myself feeding the giraffe. The giraffe's tongue was a bit too strong so I let go of the food and Miss K feed it instead.

Here's a video of us feeding the giraffe:

Here are some pictures during the field trip:

Thank you for reading my post and have an awesome day!

All of those are the amazing topics that we've been learning about in CIP. For me, I think Art from Trash is the best one, It's because I like art and creating sculptures etc. We've made a sculpture of a Kiwi Bird out of rubbish which is pretty cool.

Next, The passions that I've entered was just Dance Group lead by Miss Birtch. I personally enjoyed it because I also like dancing and It was really enjoyable especially during the times we were learning some unique dance steps.

Characters Collection "Holes" Great activity

Focus: Thinking Critically about what we have read and using our inferring skills.

Hi guys this week, we have been doing our Last activity of our novel.
We have 4 choices: Character collection, Text conversation, Going deeper and Create a game. Character collection, Character collection is to create a visual that shows items that would be important to one of the characters in your novel.  Text image, text image is about two image of the characters in your novel, having a text conversation. Next, Going deeper, Going deeper is about, a them, event or something else what you would like to Investigate further. And finally, Create a game, create a game is about using gamefroot to create a game that includes important parts of your novel.

So I choose, character collection activity, because it more creative that you can do, like create your own characters collection of your novel, and also I challenge my self to be more creative and I also enjoy making a collection of my character because I loved making a model, because in my character collection we've make it out of modelling clay.
Here's my worked/DLO looked like:
