Interesting Culture of Philippines

Bonjour! everyone! this lovely week 7, we did a kete choice activity for this week, there were a lot of choices so I choose that says "create a DLO to share with the class that will help them understand your culture". So I made a gorgeous DLO in the slide, I spend my whole time with it and I hope you enjoy it.

Knowing NZ Cities/town

Activity: Knowing NZ Cities/Town - Kete

Hey guys!, Today I'm going to share with you what I've learn from this week. In Kete we have a activity called "Knowing cities in NZ" we did it in a paper or in a chrome if you want to, mine I did it in Chromebook. So to do that activity, we have a map of NZ and we are going to find some cities or town in the NZ map to find it, we use google to help us, once we put the names of city of it we also need to put the name of that city in Maori. Like, Christchurch = Ōtautahi, So here's mine.

Reflection: I was very proud of myself because I did the best I can and I enjoyed the activity.

Time Capsule and letter

Hey guys, this week we are learning about Time Capsule in Philosophy subject, time capsule is a box filled with a things like picture when you were 6 years old or some toys that can fit in it and etc. After you filled in some things in it, you need to put it in a safe place where you can't open it, after the years past, you will open it and it will bring you from that year. Me and my class make a time capsule and here's mine:

Dear future me,

Hello! This is your 11 years old self, by the time you read this you will be 18 years old, I wonder what you were look like? By the way, I want to tell you a couple of memories about what is your life in the past and I hope you enjoy this.

Did you remember you were really shy when you were 11 years old? Well that’s true, you are really shy, and you are also quiet, you also believe Hornby High School is really scary place you’ve ever been.One day, when it’s your first day at Hornby High you realise that it wasn’t so scary place at all!.

You also find it really cool and great school because, all people was so nice, kind, caring and teaching lot’s of cool stuff. At the past, your favorite hobbies was drawings, listening to the music, also playing some games like, hide and seek, jumping rope and etc.

You also like to draw some gorgeous dresses, because you want to be a famous fashion designer when you grow up. I remember some delighted memories when it’s your birthday last year, all your friends comes to your birthday party, and had  the most delicious dish, that your mom cooked for your birthday party.

I have some questions on my mind, I hope you answer it. I wonder you still like to play games like hide and seek, tag, etc.? What is your favourite game?, What are your hobbies now?, What is your favourite colour?, Is it hard being a teenager?. I wish you still remember me, your 11 years old self.

Sailing Activity!!

Bonjour! everyone, Happy New Year guys!, I'm to share with you my second experience a couple weeks ago about our sailing trip. Last year, it's been a good year for me and now I'm high school student, just good luck.

What happened at the trip:
I get to school early, because the bus were arriving in half past eight in the morning. Me and my friends are not that excited but a little bit because, we've already been in sailing trip last year. It was pretty good experience, later the bus arrived, there two bus, 1 was large and the other was up and down.
We ride in the large 1, came inside the bus and find a seat, I seat with my friend, Janel. A while, the bus started to drive and were on our journey to Lake Roa, it takes half in hour to arrived at Lake Roa. When we arrived we put our bags in the edge and the instructor start to introducing their self to us.
There was 5 instructor but I can't remember their names, they were expert on sailing, First, they teach us about our safety. Then, the teachers start to numbered us in our arm, I was in the group number 3, each group has 2 instructor.
Secondly, our instructor started teaching us about the boat and build it completely, the boat has a lot of parts like: The Tiller, Main Shift, Sail, Backboard and etc. In each boat it have 3 or 2 people and I'm grouped with 3 people me, Jolly Rose and Shakinah.
Every parts of the boat that our instructor teach we also build it in our own boat, and also teaching us what we do when the sail turn in the other side. We practise the thing what we do if we in that situation or something like that, we practise it until we get better and the teachers were taking some photos of us. After our practise and building the boat, we finally went to the water and sailed.

Reflection: I have a lot of fun and I enjoyed the activity about sailing, I hope I can do it again but with the challenge.

Fun summer learning journey! day 1 activity 1

Maui and the giant fish

Hello guys!, this was my first time doing a summer learning journey activity, so my experience was good and fun, so today was my first post about the summer learning journey day 1 activity, and I'm hoping that you will enjoy it!. My first activity was to find three interesting facts about Maui and the giant fish story. Here's the link to the story of a man called Maui and the giant fish.

Here's my three interesting facts:

1. Maui was not just ordinary fisher man, he is a great fisher man.

2. Maui was a great fisher man than his brothers.

3. And most of all, Maui has a great attitude, he is not like his greedy brothers.

      What I have learned in this story:  

I learned that, if you think you can't reach your dream, don't give up and after the sacrifice that you did, at the end your dream will come true, like what they say difficult roads leads to a beautiful destination.

Fun Athletics Day!

Athletics Day!!

Hello guys!, Yesterday at Hornby Primary School was Athletics Day. I was so happy because sport was one of my favourite subject. The events was happened on our huge field. The sport the we did are Shot put, Discus, long distance (running) Sprints, high jump and long jump. The athletics day went good, because lot's of children have resilience and doing their best.

 My favourite part of day or time was the long distance (running) sport because, it was challenging because, we need to do 4 laps around the field, without stopping and also because it was the sport that I love the most. I came 3rd on the Long distance (running) sport because, I tried my best and have good resilience, but it's okay for me that I was 3rd because, at least I have a good time in their. No matter what place you got, the important is that you finished it and tried your best.

 My goal: My goal for next year was to improve my skills in sport and get better at sprints.
My reflective comment:  I was happy and enjoyed the athletics day
