Hurumanu 5: Lemon Batteries 🍋

Aim: To produce an electrical current using lemons.

Equipment:

  • Copper electrode

  • Zinc electrode

  • Copper wire

  • Lemon

  • Voltmeter

Methods:

  1. Roll your lemon onto the table, softening the inside.
  2. Push in the Copper electrode and Zinc electrode onto the Lemon.
  3. Get your Voltmeter, plugged in the negative and positive wire to their proper placement.
  4. Clip the negative wire to the Zinc electrode.l
  5. Clip the positive wire to the Copper electrode.
In the Voltmeter, there it will show how much the volts the Lemon produce.
Here are some pictures of the experiment:

In my groups' lemons, it only produced 1 volt. I wasn't expecting a lot from this so I guess it was fine. We also attempt to connect a couple of lemons together to see how much volts it would produce. It produced about 5 volts all together.

Have a great day and bye!

Kindness Task - Wānanga

Hi! This week in Wānanga we are tasked to create some sort of DLO relating to Kindness. We had our choices to choose whatever we were comfortable with. I chose to do a poster--not digitally--but on paper. Here's my LoVeLy poster:

Relating to that topic, we brainstorm some ideas with peers about some ways you could show some kindness to other people. It doesn't have to be necessary to others, it can be also to the environment, etc. Anyways, here are our ideas on how to show kindness. We used a cool tool called Google Jamboard.

Have a nice day everyone! Bye~

What is “Photogenic Drawing?”

Hi, This week in Photography Art we are doing our daily photography research first 10 minutes of each class. What is "Photogenic Drawing"?

Photogenic drawing is a type of photographic process used in the 1800s. This process was invented by William Henry Fox Talbot in 1802. This process is basically a contact print on a light-sensitive paper that produced dark and spotty images. This process was made without a camera. It was mainly produced by light. This technique is also known as the printing out process but is used without the chemicals. It was produced and brought out the image by the action of light.

For more visual detailed information on how it works. Here's a helpful video about it. Credits to the rightful owner. Have a nice day! Bye!

Hurumanu 6: Political Party

This week we continued on to look at politics. This week and the couple following weeks, we are focusing on creating our own political parties in groups. We needed to include the name of the party, slogan, logo, policies, and manifesto. The people in my group were Skyler, Shiela, Rieya, and Janel. This week we manage to finished some things. Our party leader is Rieya.

Our party is called the "Constellation Party". Why the Constellation is a group of visible stars, we as individuals represent the stars, because every star is different from each other, although we are all different, we are like a constellation because we are all together and we will fight together as one in order to make New Zealand a better place, where they can look up at us and be inspired, with that, we, New Zealanders are a constellation.

Relating to that, our slogan for our party is "Our individualities can create a constellation". The main colour of our party is Purple. We chose the colour “Purple” because purple is the colour that represents New Zealand’s dignity, pride, nobility, ambition and power. Using this, we can show that we have the ability to show the world that New Zealand can represent these strengths.

Today we created our team logo as well as our party policies and have started on our Manifesto. Our policies and manifesto aren't clear at the moment but our focus next week is to get it done. Also the party leader speech.

Hurumanu 6: Voting Guide Poster

Last week in Hurumanu 6, we began looking at political parties/leaders around the country. In relating to that, we also learned how to vote. If you don't know how yet. Here's a guided poster I made to explain briefly the process you have to go through in order to vote for your candidates. When voting, you are given 2 votes. One for a party and an electorate chair of your town.
Hope you get a better understanding of the voting system.
Hope you like my poster and have a nice day bye!

Art: The Collage Art Of Photomontage

Hello! This semester in Art we began looking at Photomontage. One of the well-known artists who started this kind of photography art is Hannah Höch. A female artist who invented this kind of photography art with some meanings behind it. Mostly about the equal rights for women. But when she started this collage art she was inspired by Pablo Picasso's collage art and started kind of her own one. But anyways, we were provided with some random pictures and it was up to us to use our creativity to create a photomontage. Here are the things I've come up with. I hope you like it.

It's mostly about statue faces with some cropped out facial features in the other pictures and stick it. There's no special meaning behind this photomontage of mine. But If I have to put a meaning behind it it's probably about how history can be affected by today's society. Especially with the statues. I guess you could say it kinda relates to some drag-queens these days. The second picture on the top right, the one who is wearing some yellow boots, it kinda relates to how people can be insecure about their appearance I guess. Hope you like it and have a great day!

Who made the first 'photograph'?

It's the beginning of the 2nd Semester. For the options subject, I chose Art. It's specifically has something to do with Photography. In every 10 minutes start of the session, we are tasked to make a blogpost about in one of the 'Photography Research slides'.
The picture above is the topic of what I'm blogging about.
The person that made the first photograph in the world is Joseph Nicephore Niepce. Nicephore Niepce is a french man who invented the first photography and pioneer in that field. The process of him making the photograph was called 'Heliography' it basically meant 'sun' and graphein invented by him around 1822.
